Is the cheapest always the best

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

If the media is always to be believed, consumers are, almost without exception, looking for the cheapest versions of everything. But is this perception true? And is it always right that the cheapest represents the best deal? For example, it could be tempting to settle for the cheapest sink, tap or kitchen worktop that you can find, but is this really going to be the best value option? Many people confuse price with value when making their kitchen purchasing decisions. A laminate kitchen worktop can be purchased at a relatively lower price, but it is not always the best value. A better quality worktop will be one made from granite, quartz or even marble. Cheaper worktops are more easily damaged but a natural gemstone worktop will be more resistant to scratches and marks. Your worktop will, therefore, look better for longer and will not need to be replaced so quickly. A top quality worktop may well outlive the rest of the kitchen (with the exception of your sink, which may well have a lifetime of 50 years or more.) Bear in mind that your home is also an investment and that good quality fixtures and fittings will add to its value. You will have a kitchen to be proud of that it will be a joy to spend time in.
