If you are attempting to sell your property in the current difficult economy, it is important that you present your home at its best. This means seeing your property through the eyes of your potential purchaser, rather than through your own.For example, if your prospective purchaser is likely to be younger than yourself, their tastes may be very different. If your target demographic is a young professional or a young couple with a family, try using warm gray as a neutral colour for your kitchen and living areas. On-trend neutral colour schemes allow potential home buyers to envisage bringing in their own contemporary colours and furniture.Invest in white cabinetry and/or kitchen sink. Many home buyers under 40 prefer white or off-white kitchen cabinets. Out-dated dark colours with orange or red undertones are likely to put them off. When it comes to kitchen appliances and sink, consider replacing your existing ones with stainless steel versions if you want your kitchen to appeal to the younger buyer. Likewise, simple stone kitchen worktops are often a must-have for younger purchasers. Choose a granite that is almost black or, alternatively, worktops with a minimum amount of colour.Always remember that it is most likely that, if your purchaser is likely to be busy with a young family, the less they need to do when they move in to a new property, the better.
