The British Council is launching the UK Young Design Entrepreneur award and hopes to attract interior designers to the scheme, an online magazine has revealed.Design Week has revealed the organisations new plan to complement the existing International Young Design Entrepreneur of the Year award which it launched in 2005 to attract new creative minds to the UK market. The scheme hopes to attract those working in the areas of interior, promotion, product and graphic designs as well as architecture and digital media.Head of architecture and design at the British Council Emily Campbell told Design Week that the winner and two runners-up will travel to India in 2009 to learn their industry at the countrys national institute in Ahmedabad. She said Its really about creating a relationship and synergy everywhere, so a UK scheme is a natural counterpart to the international award. Its a two-way sharing of knowledge and opportunity. The British Council was set up in 1934 to promote the UKs culture and technology after the Foreign Office wanted a similar organisation to those representing France, Germany and Italy.ADNFCR-1177-ID-18691370-ADNFCR
