Worcester looks to sink waste disposal

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Sink waste disposal units have been hailed as a key component in plans for struggling recycling areas in the UK to boost their rubbish disposal programmes.Worcester News claimed that research from local councillors showed the area to be lacking in respect of recycling levels elsewhere, with new kitchen disposal methods a key channel for reducing landfill-destined waste. While some local councillors favoured the option of organising weekly collections of food waste, others preferred measures to reduce waste at source.Leader of the council Simon Geraghty was reported to be of the opinion that sink disposal units which liquidise food waste were a more durable way of reducing the rubbish disposal of recyclables. What we should be doing is minimising waste at source, by encouraging people to compost using the home composting scheme, Mr Geraghty told the Worcester News. The local council is reported to be offering sink disposal units at a reduced price, a measure likely to boost recycling at a time when councils across the country are looking to up their rates and compare favourably against others.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18299799-ADNFCR
