Choosing classic colours will ensure a kitchen is timeless and gives implied quality, one colour expert says.Leatrice Eiseman, director of the Pantone Color Institute, says colours associated with elements of nature that are ever-present, such as rock, marble and granite, are examples of classic colours.Speaking to Home and Garden Television (HGTV), she comments There is an implied quality to anything so long-lasting, which would certainly translate into appliances, cabinets and other kitchen areas you hope would have longevity.The HGTV feature gives advice on choosing colour schemes for cabinets, counters, backsplashes, appliances and flooring.It suggests wood cabinets with a finish between blonde and brunette, a white, green or black counter and monochrome appliances.Backsplashes can match cabinets or provide intense splashes of colour, while warmer tones for flooring are advised.Earlier this month HGTV suggested a new coat of paint on kitchen cabinets to revitalise a tired kitchen.
