Skylight ensures galley kitchen feels spacious

A galley kitchen design retained a spacious feel thanks to the installation of a skylight and the placing of cabinetry.Betty Barootes showed the Leader-Post around her home which she had helped to design in the 1980s with the assistance of an architect. While the rest of the rooms in the house were designed to be relatively open, Ms Barootes was restricted to having a galley kitchen a design in which a small space is lined with units on both sides. However, to prevent the room from feeling cramped or dark, she created a wide entranceway to the family room and added many tall, frosted-glass-fronted cupboards, in addition to the skylight.Elsewhere, Ms Barootes covered the walls with white subway tiles, installed stainless steel appliances and used black granite countertops in the kitchen sink area.According to a recent report by Newsok.com, having a well-designed and equipped kitchen can help make it much easier and more efficient to prepare nutritional meals.
