Ring lost down kitchen sink found after 16 years

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A woman who believes she lost her wedding ring down her kitchen sink 16 years ago was amazed to discover it around a carrot growing in her garden. Lena Paahlsson, from Sweden, had taken off the white gold ring whilst preparing for Christmas in 1995, but found later that it had disappeared from her kitchen worktop. After looking everywhere, and even pulling up floorboards during her search, Mrs Paahlsson said she had lost hope of ever seeing her treasured ring again. But she recently spotted something shiny whilst picking home-grown carrots in her garden. She said the ring must have fallen into the kitchen sink and been mixed with potato peelings which were then composted or fed to the familys sheep. The ring is now too small for Mrs Paahlsson but she is planning to have it enlarged. I had given up hope. Now that I have found the ring again, I want to be able to use it, she said.
