Property hunters should be aware of kitchen cabinet measurements

Those looking to purchase a property before it has been built should ensure kitchen cabinets have the correct dimensions on the plans, it has been claimed. Architect Gil Shenhav noted that buying a house based on blueprints can often lead to sizing problems in food preparation areas, Haaritz.com reported. Mr Shenhav explained that it is important there is at least eight square metres of space in total above and beneath kitchen counters and to make sure there is enough depth in the cabinets. When viewing a show home modelling the proposed construction, he added, be warned that a lack of furniture is a red flag that could mean furnishings could be difficult to fit in. People were also advised to find out whether a built-in cooker will come with the house, because if they are not factored into the design there may not be enough room later. According to ARA, custom kitchen cabinets are one upgrade that could maximise space in cooking areas.
