A post-war kitchen sink was one of the items brought in by a visitor during the filming of a recent episode of the popular BBC series Antiques Roadshow. The Antiques Roadshow drew in hundreds of members of the public for the filming at The Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. Visitor Phil Smith, of Surlingham, was filmed with a 1950s kitchen unit. Expert Mark Allum informed him that it was one of the first of a modular design. Dr Smith said Post-war manufacturers of aircraft had to start diversifying and one thing they went into was furniture and kitchens. Mark was joking there might be parts of an old Spitfire in it.
