German design company Poggenpohl has created a new kitchen for sale which includes not only worktops and cabinetry but also walls, floors, dining furniture and an independent ceiling.The firms new kitchen system, which is named +Artesio and will be on sale from January next year, has been designed to blend into the living space around it, the New York Times reported.Speaking to the newspaper, Hadi Teherani, the Hamburg architect who created the kitchen in collaboration with Poggenpohl, said it is not only a workshop for preparing dishes but also a place where you would also read a book, paint a picture or receive guests.Meanwhile Poggenpohl chief executive Elmar Duffner described it as a room-in-room solution that would be ideal for a high-ceilinged loft, particularly as the independent ceiling incorporates built-in ventilation, lighting and sound.The kitchens materials can also be customised to suit all kitchen tap, sink and appliance options, with cabinetry coming in laminate, wood, glass and leather.Kristin Martin, a brand manager at the cookware maker Le Creuset, told the Canadian Press this week that the latest trends on the fashion catwalk are inspiring a growing number of homeware manufacturers and kitchen design companies.
