People should avoid expensive kitchen renovations

By Francis Finch Expensive kitchen upgrades should be avoided by homeowners looking to put their property on the market, it has been suggested. According to two estate agents, buying a flash new kitchen is a common mistake that many individuals make during difficult economic conditions, The Star reports. Willem Prinsloo from Lew Geffen and Nicole Halls Chas Everitt both advised those looking to sell their house to avoid a large-scale kitchen renovation. Mr Prinsloo said that kitchen trends can often be fickle and potential buyers may not share your modern taste. He remarked By all means, get a well-designed kitchen, but focus on it being user-friendly rather than trendy. If a kitchen is really in a bad state though, owners should tackle the problem as it may put people off purchasing, Mr Everitt commented. Greg Miedema of US-based Dakota Builder said earlier this month that new fixtures such as kitchen sinks are becoming more popular with homeowners during the credit crunch.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19329597-ADNFCR
