Launch of new kitchen design degree

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

The kitchen industry has welcomed the launch of a new degree in kitchen design. News of the foundation degree, available to students at Buckinghamshire New University from September 2013, has been backed by the Kitchen Bathroom and Bedroom Specialists Association - KBSA. KBSA CEO Graham Ball said, This is great news for our industry and a landmark development in the provision of relevant and recognisable training standards for KBB professionals. These graduates would be an asset to any company and we hope that everyone will support the degree by publicising it to potential students and consider the part time options for their own staff. Renee Mascari, Chief Executive of the Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom National Training Group which worked alongside the university to format the degree course, added, There is a real sense of excitement within the industry about this project, something well overdue. This is a great outcome for kitchen designers, an opportunity to upskill those already working as kitchen designers as well as recruit new entrants into the KBB sector. The NTG has worked very hard to create a pathway for kitchen design and this totally supports our efforts to ensure the relevant NVQs are in place to underpin this degree course. The degree is a two-year full-time or three-year part-time course. For more information visit the kitchen design course page
