Kitchens must harmonise colour schemes, expert says

Ensuring elements of a kitchen are colour coordinated is important, it has been claimed. Property expert Pamela Markson noted that getting the right balance between floors, countertops and cabinets can be difficult, the Boston Globe reports. She remarked If you have white cabinets, you want a little white in the granite [countertop]. It can be too stark to have a black granite top and white cabinets. On the other hand, interior designer Amy McFadden believes that homeowners can add a little flair by mixing up the materials implemented in cooking areas. According to Ms McFadden, using a different type of stone for countertops on a kitchen island can look fabulous, provided it is used in conjunction with a room that is painted in a neutral colour. Those considering buying this type of feature for their kitchen may be swayed by comments made by plumber Ed Del Grande, writing for HGTVPro.com, who stated that pre-packed versions can come with a kitchen sink.
