Households in Flintshire were told to boil the water from their kitchen taps after bacteria was found in water supplies, it has been reported.Around 70,000 households in Flintshire and Denbighshire were told to boil the kitchen tap water before drinking it, using it to prepare food and to clean teeth, the Wrexham Evening Leader said.Welsh Water stated that it would give every household 10 for the trouble this caused.However, John Wilkinson, of Maes-Y-Dre Avenue, Flint, claimed that he and other residents have not yet received the payment.We had to travel around to find bottled water, because all of the shops had run out and it is not something I can really afford to be doing in my current position [of being in between jobs], he told the newspaper.Individuals concerned about the everyday quality of the water from their kitchen taps could invest in the Franke Triflow water filter for kitchen taps, which diverts water through a purification unit.
