A couple have explained their motivations for moving into an innovative, eco-friendly home in the US that uses only rainwater for its entire water supply.Anna and Michael Parsons told the Evansville Courier Press that the Florida home, which is fitted with a 5,000-gallon tank, was an attractive prospect because of its potential to save both environmental resources and money.Rain flows from the kitchen tap, showerhead and all other appliances and fixtures that use water in the home.In addition to this clever water supply, the property comes with a range of other environmentally-friendly features, the news provider said.The new home has LED lights with 20-year bulbs, it observed. Energy-efficient appliances and natural lighting should keep their electric bill at about 100 a month, down from a summer rate of 400 in their old home. Solar panels on the detached garage roof will likely bring the bill down further.
