Kitchen renovators must consider health issues

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Homeowners and developers need to be very careful about health issues surrounding poor ventilation when refurbishing kitchens and other rooms, it has been argued.Glen Irwin, sustainability director at consulting firm Gifford, said that people need to be aware of the condensation problems that can arise when insulating homes.Speaking at a Sustainability Now event, he said You have got to think about what you are setting in place - try and pre-empt that you are going to have an air-quality humidity issue and then put other interventions in to deal with that.Otherwise you just end up leapfrogging problems, but not actually ending up with a very nice environment. It might be energy efficient, but is it actually nice to live in?The advice comes after Steven Shaw of Kitchen Bath Design News noted that little touches such as replacing kitchen taps and sinks - can often make the difference in home kitchen designs.ADNFCR-1321-ID-800285725-ADNFCR
