Homeowners are increasingly using dramatic, mood lighting effects within their rooms, an expert has observed.Eva Hammerson, head of design at lighting firm Kandabi, noted that there have been more creative applications of mood lighting techniques in homes.She added that this trend, which applies the latest lighting technology such as LEDs, is set to become the norm in the next decade and will eventually replace every existing lighting technology in the market today.Ms Hammerson also noted that dramatic lighting effects used in public spaces are now making their way into the home.Used to dramatic effect in hospitality commercial interiors, especially trendy bars and restaurants, and now slowly making its way into the residential interior market, mood lighting is really about using this gradually more accessible, easier to use and increasingly more affordable LED lighting in the context of a home interior and exterior space, often in very creative, dramatic and unexpected ways, she said.Such lighting effects could change the ambience in core areas of the kitchen including in food prep and kitchen sink areas.
