A luxury housing development project has used kitchen islands to create functional and open rooms.Rhodes Homes Zanetti housing collection in Las Vegas features islands as well as kitchen nooks and pantrys in order to make maximum use of the space, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports. Each kitchen at Zanetti includes a gourmet cooking island, which is one of the most popular features in new homes right now, sales agent Marietta Manayan told the news provider.Ms Manayan added that because kitchens are considered to be rooms where families spend a lot of time together, the development project wanted to ensure that the rooms were as comfortable and functional as possible.According to the article, a range of upgrades are available for the kitchens including granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, fireplaces or covered patios.Interior designer Fred Fargotstein recently showed Post-gazette.com how he was able to turn a cluttered kitchen into a functional room by adding a new kitchen sink.
