Kitchens Bedrooms and Bathrooms (KBB) magazine has reported a new and growing trend in kitchen design.Featuring a range of modern, open-plan kitchen-cum-dining-rooms, the home specialist magazine highlighted the way that kitchens had moved beyond food preparation.For KBB the new modern kitchen was a centre for entertainment and relaxed socialising, at the expense of a more formal traditional arrangement of practical kitchen and more expansive dining room styling.The magazine even ventured The separate dining room has become an endangered species.Where once it was the pride of the house and the scene for all family gatherings and celebrations, it is now being left out in the cold, in favour of the kitchen-diner.The kitchen feature went on to highlight the attractiveness of an all-in-one cooking and eating space for all types of house-buyer, from the individual to families with young children.
