Despite the current economic climate, growing numbers of homeowners are opting to invest in their kitchens, experts from across the Atlantic have reported. With this likely to be being mirrored across the UK, the National Kitchen and Bath Association has reported that the recession is actually encouraging people to invest in their homes, with kitchen units, appliances and sinks usually top of their list of priorities. Speaking to the Detroit Free Press, the associations president Suzie Williford revealed that many homeowners are looking to the long term when it comes to spending money on upgrading their kitchens. Well, people dont want their homes to take the same precedence as the next, she explained. Itll give you the competitive edge when you need to sell your home.At the same time, she also revealed that eco-friendly kitchen appliances are now all the rage among US consumers, with a significant proportion even willing to spend a little extra in order to be green. These comments come soon after the Daily Telegraph similarly reported a rise in the number of UK families opting to improve, not move, due to market conditions.
