Homeowners wishing to be more environmentally-friendly can install a foot pedal to operate their kitchen sink, an expert has said.Interior designer Shanon Munn told the Washington Post that such as feature is both green and practical. Its a hands-free operation, which makes it more sanitary, and you use much less water, she said.The newspaper noted that there are number of ways homeowners can make their kitchens more eco-friendly while saving money at the same time.This could include replacing appliances with more energy-efficient options, it said, noting that convection ovens can cut energy use by about 20 per cent compared to standard models.In addition, the paper advised using reflective materials to boost natural light in the kitchen, thereby cutting down on lighting bills.This week, Margaret Morgan, a design writer for Newsroom Jersey said homeowners should reflect on their memories and travels to gain inspiration for their kitchen designs.
