An increasing number of families are deciding to improve their existing homes rather than move on to new properties. That is according to the Telegraph, which has suggested that its become almost impossible to move, let alone upsize in the current market. The newspaper has noted that people such as the Dinan family have chosen to improve their existing homes, starting with changes to kitchen design. An open plan has been favoured by the family, so that rooms can be closed off when occupants choose to have some privacy and opened up when needed for more than one purpose. This has transformed a very dark kitchen in the middle with no windows into something far more innovative. It is now a more spacious area that acts as the family hub as well as the cooking and cleaning centre of the house. The Telegraph observed that dark dungeon kitchens can be easily turned into rooms full of light and warmth.
