Everything in a kitchen can be recycled

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Everything in a kitchen can be recycled or restored, it has been argued.Interior designer Cynthia Bennett told dailybreeze.com that kitchen renovators are becoming increasingly eco-conscious, suggesting that old is the new green. She referred to one of her own home design projects which had involved remaking an 80-year-old kitchen. Ms Bennett said she had looked to preserve as much of the original kitchen cabinetry, floor tiles and other materials as possible.I would call this job not just a face-lift, but an actual restoration, added the designer. This was a historical restoration, and a renovation of an old kitchen. Ms Bennett cleaned the floor tiles and refinished some of the original cabinetry because it had remained in good condition despite its age. She also installed a central island with a kitchen sink and dishwasher to make the room more functional.Despite such preservation efforts, a recent report in the Globe and Mail suggested that new kitchen appliances and fixtures are increasingly incorporating the latest, cutting-edge technology.ADNFCR-1321-ID-19744839-ADNFCR
