Brits still dreaming of ideal home

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

Nearly two thirds of people in the UK still aspire to buying their dream home, according to financial services company Legal General. The companys Home Sweet Home survey also revealed that while people have major hopes for purchasing a new property, there remains considerable energy for revamping existing homes starting with the kitchen.Topping other rooms such as the bathroom and living room, kitchens were selected by 35 per cent of people as the room they would choose to improve, revealing the increasingly high premium placed on the kitchen as the centre of the home. For those dreaming of moving and inheriting a dream farmhouse kitchen or designer model, one in five respondents claimed that a country character house was the most desirable option. Garry Skelton, marketing director for Legal Generals general insurance business said The survey would indicate that people are still quite positive about the future housing market given the number of respondents who still wish to live in their dream home. However, probably reflecting financial concerns, the number of Brits who do not expect to ever live in their dream home has risen from just over 20 per cent to 30 per cent since the last survey.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18568939-ADNFCR
