Staff at InSinkErator UK are celebrating after receiving the 2011 Business Leader Award for Outstanding Performance from their parent company Emerson. The UK division of InSinkErator, a leading food waste disposal manufacturer, received the award after it achieved a sales increase of 50 per cent in the past two years, meaning it out-performed other European-based Emerson companies as well as the market as a whole. The UK team received the award in Monte Carlo at the annual Emerson European planning conference. InSinkErator sales and marketing director Ashley Munden said We are thrilled to have been given this award as its a reward for our hard work in this tough economic climate. Weve out performed our market in the midst of the recession and were very proud of the whole teams achievements. Our sales growth is particularly uplifting, given our market sector has previously seen lows in excess of 15 per cent. InSinkErator UK has benefited from a consumer desire for efficient and time saving appliances in the kitchen, both across food waste disposers and steaming hot water taps, and we have capitalised on this to sell the hygienic and convenience benefits that the products offer, he added. InSinkErator is part of the Emerson group, which recorded sales of 24 billion (15bn) in 2011.
