Appliances get energy-saving makeover

Written Kitchen taps and food waste disposer units can help to make a kitchen greener, with appliances also given an energy-efficient makeover.Panasonic has responded to a change in the way homeowners view their kitchen energy use and revealed a new range of efficient appliances.The firm has announced that it will soon make several energy-saving kitchen accessories available to customers in Europe.From March, homeowners in seven countries, including the UK, Germany and Spain, will be able to incorporate the no-frost NR-B30FX1 fridge freezer in to kitchen design plans.The fridge boasts an A++ energy rating, has a silver finish and will be joined by the NA-16VX1 washing machine which uses 20 per cent less energy than other models. Yorihisa Shiokawa, managing director of marketing for Panasonic Europe, said the appliances are expected to be popular due to an increased environmental awareness in Europe.European users are by far the worlds most environmentally aware customers. We are convinced that our products will satisfy the demand for economical and environmentally compatible solutions that also offer top performance, quality and design as well as ease of use, he explained.
