Advice given on kitchen waste reduction

Posted by Sinks on 27th Jun 2017

A new ten step guide on how families can reduce their household and kitchen waste has been published by the, Institution of chemical Engineers (IChemE).Advice offered includes planning ahead and not impulse buy. When at the shops it recommends looking for products with minimal packaging. It suggests plastic bottles or containers can be shrunk using leftover boiling water from your kettle. For food waste such as potato peelings, teabags, and eggshells home composting can be a solution. It even suggests getting a pet as a natural waste disposal unit and even using leftover boiling water from a kettle to shrink plastic bottles and other packaging.Perhaps controversially the institution recommends that any packing that is not strictly necessary should be left in the shop so that the retailer is forced to deal with its disposal.ADNFCR-1321-ID-18597537-ADNFCR
