Someone emailed us the other day requesting a "Belfast sinl for her new kitchen" - we're no pedants, and we know she meant Belfast sinks, and she had chosen the right people! Our showroom in Shropshire has many examples of stunning ceramic Belfast sinks that the only tricky thing about the whole process is picking your favourite one!

A great way of getting a cool looking sink in a restricted space is investing in a Villeroy and Boch small Belfast sink. These type of sinks are brilliant - they're not only tough and durable, but they also look brilliant against a tiled splashback and coupled with some nice chrome or bronze taps. They can look funky or traditional, dressed up or down - they're like the little black dress of sinks!

At Sinks.co.uk, we make sure that we stock a huge choice of sinks. This belfast sink white, below, is an example of how great they can look in any kind of kitchen setting. They are hand crafted to perfection and last for years - a worthwhile investment.

The traditional Belfast sink is one of our best sellers, it's easy to see why! These stunning ceramic sinks are designed to last for many years to come. Our range of Belfast sinks vary from the small Belfast sink to those that are big enough to wash your dog in! To help decide which Belfast is best for you call one of our friendly sink experts.

Sometimes when we get a bit hot, we like to cool down by sticking our feet in Belfast Butler Sinks...OK, maybe not, but this hippo certainly does!

OK, just because it's you, we thought we'd give you a sneak preview of what our stand at the KBB show Birmingham is going to look like come Sunday 21st March.

We're just making sure our kitchen sinks are gleaming and we have every last nut and bolt accounted for...then we're going to have a well earned rest - before the madness begins!

Hope to see you at the Birmingham NEC for the KBB 2010 Show!

We stumbled across this video of some baby ducks taking a little swim in a standard Belfast sink today. Very cute. Take a look:

Wondering what the difference between butler sinks and belfast sinks? Let the experts at Sinks.co.uk explain:

"In actual fact they are both butler sinks (ie made to go in the butler’s pantry), but those made in Belfast have a Weir overflow, while those made in London don’t.

"This is because, when butler sinks were first made in the late 17th century, each major city had a sanitation officer autonomously responsible for the ordering of pipes, basins, sinks, and decreeing sizes, styles etc. Different patterns were evolved and gave rise to specific types. Hence the Belfast butler sink was different from, say, the London butler sink.

"Belfast, with access to plentiful water housed sinks with overflows, but London , built on clay where deep wells had to be drilled to reach water, discouraged water wastage and no overflows were accommodated. Therefore, the Belfast butler sink has what is known as a Weir overflow built into it, whereas a standard Butler Sink doesn’t."

Cheers guys - I think we've learnt something new today!

So, you're looking for a Belfast sink, but don't know if it fits in the current sink area of your kitchen.

That's why we're clever. On our sink website, sinks.co.uk, we include the Belfast sink dimensions, like below:
