Copper basins are completely unlike an other type of sink. They're striking, whimsical, beautiful, traditional-looking - and a million other things.

Probably one of our favourite copper basins is this model, the Belle bathroom sink:

Brass sink pillar taps are popular with white ceramic sinks. They don't suit stainless steel sinks, or copper - and you might get away with pairing them with granite - but butler, belfast and other solid white ceramic sinks with brass belong together like milk and cookies - look we've even show off the coupling in this video!

A great way of getting a cool looking sink in a restricted space is investing in a Villeroy and Boch small Belfast sink. These type of sinks are brilliant - they're not only tough and durable, but they also look brilliant against a tiled splashback and coupled with some nice chrome or bronze taps. They can look funky or traditional, dressed up or down - they're like the little black dress of sinks!

For those of you blessed with a separate room for washing clothes and linen, you'll know that a standard feature of any period laundry room is to have laundry room sinks in the UK.
